What is clinical neuropsychology?

Neuropsychology is a specialised branch of psychology. Neuropsychologists have specific training in the relationship between brain function, thinking and behaviour. Neuropsychological assessment assesses your “thinking skills” using standardised, clinically validated measures to understand how different areas of the brain are functioning.

While psychologists often focus on mental health, emotions, and behaviour, neuropsychologists specialise in understanding brain function associated with neurological, medical, developmental, and psychiatric conditions.

My research focused on cognitive markers of Alzheimer’s disease and traumatic encephalopathy syndrome/chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
